Systems Engineer (NCSE1126)

About the Role:

Cablenet is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Systems Engineer to join its team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of critical IT infrastructure and enterprise systems supporting Cablenet’s services and operations.

The role involves working with Linux-based environments, enterprise middleware, authentication services, networking components, security solutions and monitoring platforms to ensure the stability, availability, security and performance of systems across Production, Staging and Testing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Platforms & Middleware

• Administer, maintain and support enterprise middleware and integration platforms.
• Perform system installations, configurations, upgrades, patching and preventive maintenance of critical applications such as API Gateway ecosystem, IBM Cloud Pack for Data, Keycloak platforms and other systems.
• Monitor system health, resource utilization, availability and performance.
• Maintain and troubleshoot authentication and identity management services, through Keycloak platforms
• Provide infrastructure and operational support for enterprise business applications and billing platforms.
• Support application configurations, system integrations and environment-specific changes.
• Investigate and resolve platform availability, performance and connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot operating system, infrastructure, networking and service-related issues.
• Ensure infrastructure reliability, security and operational continuity.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, secure communications and service accessibility issues.

Monitoring & Operational Support

• Maintain enterprise platforms monitoring, logging and alerting solutions.
• Configure dashboards, monitoring metrics and alerts to ensure operational visibility.
• Proactively identify and investigate infrastructure incidents and performance degradation.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Contribute to improving system reliability and performance.

Infrastructure Operations & DevOps

• Support containerized application environments and troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues.
• Participate in system deployments, configuration changes and operational improvements.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application infrastructure requirements.
• Contribute to automation and the optimization of system administration processes.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and system configurations.

Incident & Change Management

• Provide technical support across Production, Staging and Testing environments.
• Investigate and resolve technical incidents affecting infrastructure and enterprise services.
• Perform system upgrades, maintenance activities and configuration changes.
• Participate in incident resolution and root cause analysis.
• Coordinate with internal technical teams and external service providers.
• Support change management processes and perform post-implementation validation.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering or a similar technical role.
• Good knowledge of Linux operating systems and server administration.
• Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, routing and firewalls.
• Experience with virtualized infrastructure and enterprise server environments.
• Familiarity with reverse proxies, load balancing and web application security concepts.
• Understanding of SSL/TLS certificates and secure communication protocols.
• Basic knowledge of identity and access management, authentication and directory services.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring, logging and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of containerization technologies and infrastructure operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical teams.
• Good command of the English language.

Skills Considered an Advantage:

• Experience supporting enterprise middleware and API management platforms.
• Familiarity with identity federation, single sign-on and authentication protocols.
• Knowledge of infrastructure security, web application firewalls and traffic management.
• Experience supporting enterprise billing systems or telecommunications platforms.
• Familiarity with scripting, automation and configuration management.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging and performance analysis solutions.
• Understanding of DevOps practices and deployment processes.
• Experience working in high-availability or business-critical environments.
• Familiarity with incident, problem and change management processes.
