Junior Information Security Analyst (ISA725)

Job Description

We are seeking a Junior Information Security Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of information security principles, technologies, and best practices. The Junior Information Security Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, as well as implementing security measures to protect our organization’s systems and data.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain security tools and technologies, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, endpoint security solutions, and network monitoring tools.
  • Continuous monitoring of security tools, logs, and alerts to identify potential security incidents or threats.
  • Analyze security events to determine their impact and escalate as necessary.
  • Support in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Document all incident response activities and contribute to post-incident reports for analysis and improvement.
  • Stay up to date on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and trends relevant to the telecommunications industry.
  • Fine-tuning of security tools towards more effective detection and prevention mechanisms.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential risks and weaknesses.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams for the remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of security awareness training programs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
  • OR proven 2 years of experience in information security analysis, incident response, and vulnerability management.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, operating systems, and security technologies will be considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of security principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, SIEM, EDX/XDR and antivirus software.
  • Nice to have, certifications like CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), Cisco CCNA, or other similar.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
