Junior Radio Access Network Engineer (NFR7J1026)

Job Description

Why we need you

Behind every call, message, video and mobile connection is a complex radio network working constantly in the background. As a Junior Radio Access Network Engineer, you’ll get hands-on experience with the technology that makes that possible.

You will work alongside experienced engineers on LTE planning, optimization, network performance, drive testing and troubleshooting. You’ll turn real network data, KPIs and drive-test results into insights that help improve coverage, capacity and the mobile experience.

You don’t need to know everything from day one. Curiosity, analytical thinking and a willingness to learn matter most. We’ll give you the opportunity to build your skills, solve real network challenges and grow your career in Radio Access Networks.

Because behind every network measurement is a customer simply trying to stay connected.

Here’s what you’ll be doing

You’ll join our Radio Access Network team, working closely with experienced engineers across our LTE network. Some days you’ll be analysing coverage and performance data, some days you’ll be on the road running drive tests, and others you’ll be helping investigate a network issue affecting a customer.

  • Shape coverage and capacity. Support LTE RF design, planning and optimisation, from dimensioning and traffic analysis to coverage predictions that support network expansion.
  • Get hands-on in the field. Participate in drive testing, collect real-world network data and analyse the results to understand how the network performs in different locations and conditions.
  • Turn data into better performance. Analyse drive-test results and network KPIs, identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to recommendations that enhance network performance and quality of service.
  • Spot issues early. Monitor network events, alarms and faults, helping identify potential service issues and working with experienced engineers to investigate their root causes.
  • Test before go-live. Participate in the verification and acceptance of new Radio Network Elements, configurations and network changes, helping ensure they perform as expected.
  • Solve real customer problems. Investigate network-related complaints and work with the technical team to understand what’s behind connectivity and coverage issues.
  • Learn by doing. Work alongside our Senior RAN Engineer and other technical teams, building your RF and Radio Access Network expertise through real-world challenges and hands-on experience.

You will succeed in this role if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in RF planning, optimisation or mobile networks, with exposure to LTE and/or 5G NR. We also welcome applications from recent graduates with relevant academic, project or internship experience.
  • Practical experience with RF planning and drive-test tools, and a strong understanding of how to use them to improve network performance.
  • A solid understanding of radio network KPIs – what they measure, how they’re calculated and, most importantly, what they tell you about the customer experience.
  • Experience with at least one major RAN equipment vendor, such as Huawei, Ericsson or Nokia.
  • A good understanding of network events, alarms and faults, and how they can affect performance, coverage and service quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues, identify root causes and turn findings into practical solutions.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a live network environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to work across technical teams.
  • Very good written and spoken Greek and English.
