Why we need you:
A connection at home, an online exam, a business taking payments – all depend on services working when they’re needed. Keeping it that way takes engineers who take ownership. People who don’t stop at “it’s working again”, but want to know what broke, fix it properly, and leave the network stronger than they found it.
At Cablenet, our IP Network team keeps services running every day while continuously evolving the network behind them. As an IP Network Engineer, you’ll help design, build, run and improve our service provider network. You’ll take on complex technical challenges alongside experienced engineers, and help shape the platforms we’ll rely on for years to come.
If you want to work on a network that’s evolving, and have a real hand in where it goes, we’d like to hear from you.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Shape the network. Help design, implement, run, maintain and fine-tune the IP networks that keep homes and businesses across Cyprus connected.
- Work across every layer. Plan and operate network infrastructure from Layer 1 to Layer 3, from the physical links all the way up to switching and routing.
- Keep a finger on the network’s pulse. Run daily health checks across our Access IP platforms (BNG, DHCP, RADIUS, DNS, Metro IP rings, CMTS/PON and CPE) and catch issues before customers ever notice.
- Get customers connected. Provision and troubleshoot customer services across the access network and right through to the device in their home or office.
- Master multiple access technologies. Work hands-on with FTTx (GPON and P2P), DOCSIS and their supporting systems to deliver services that work, and fix them fast when they don’t.
- Bring people together and deliver. Coordinate and oversee work with internal teams and external partners, making sure every requirement is captured, designed and implemented on time.
- Make performance visible. Create and review the documentation, dashboards, reports and KPIs that give management a clear view of how the network is performing.
- Shape what comes next. Work side by side with our platform vendors on support, upgrades and the next stage of our network’s evolution.
- Step up when it counts. Take part in scheduled and emergency maintenance, and own escalated incidents until they’re fully resolved.
- Be the last line of quality. Run acceptance and validation tests on new platforms and CPE firmware, including ACS/TR-069, IPv6 provisioning and Wi-Fi, so only what’s ready reaches customers.
- Be the expert others turn to. Provide Level 2 support to our Network Operations Centre (NOC) for network and security incidents, and Level 3 support for customer-related issues, taking every problem to its root cause.
You will succeed in the role if you:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications and Networks, or a related field.
- Bring at least 4 years of hands-on experience in ISP or enterprise networking environments.
- Know Layer 2 and Layer 3 inside out, and can reason your way through a problem from switching to routing.
- Hold a CCNA, CCNP or equivalent certification.
- Are comfortable with virtual platforms and Linux, and happy to get stuck in on the command line.
- Communicate clearly and thrive in a team, whether you’re explaining a fault to a colleague, a vendor or management.
- Stay organised under pressure, balancing incidents, projects and deadlines without losing track of what matters most.
- Speak and write fluently in both English and Greek.
