These are the terms and conditions (the “Terms”) on which Cablenet Communication Systems Plc (“Cablenet”, “we” or “us”) supply our Prepaid Mobile Services to you. By purchasing, activating, or using our Prepaid Mobile Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms are for prepaid mobile services only and should be read in conjunction with our general terms and conditions. These Terms should not be read in conjunction with any other terms and conditions for other services we provide, which do not apply to the supply of our Prepaid Mobile Services.
1. Definitions
“Account” means your prepaid account with us, which holds your credit balance for using the Services.
“Credit” means the monetary value you add to your Account by purchasing a top-up voucher or using another top-up method.
“Holder” means the natural or legal person in whose name the SIM Card is officially registered in accordance with applicable law
“Holder’s Identity Details” has the meaning given in clause 2.2 of these Terms.
“Prepaid Mobile Services” or “Services” means the mobile voice, SMS, and data services that we provide to you, which are paid for in advance by adding Credit to your Account.
“SIM Card” means the subscriber identity module card (whether physical or an eSIM) that we provide to you to connect to our mobile network.
“User” means the natural person who actually uses the SIM Card and Services, who may or may not be the same person as the Holder.
2. Purchase and Activation of SIM Card
2.1 Identification. Our Prepaid Mobile Services cannot be activated or used anonymously. Before we can activate your SIM Card, you must complete a mandatory identification process.
2.2 Identification process. To purchase and activate a SIM Card, the prospective Holder must:
(a) Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
(b) Present a valid, original identification document: (i) to us or our authorised agent, or (ii) proceed with an online identification, through our website
Acceptable documents include:
(i) Cypriot nationals: National ID Card or Passport.
(ii) Nationals of other EU Member States: National ID Card or Passport.
(iii) Nationals of third countries (non-EU): Passport, Alien Registration Card (ARC), or other valid residence permit; AND
(c) Complete and sign a responsible declaration form providing your full name and the number of your identification document (“Holder’s Identity Details”).
2.3 Activation. We will not activate your SIM Card until we have successfully collected and verified your Holder’s Identity Details as required by law. We are solely responsible for the correct and secure retention of this data.
3. Holder and User Obligations
3.1 Declaring a User. If the User is different from the Holder, the Holder is legally obligated to declare the User’s identity details to us by completing the relevant section of the declaration form and provide to us a duly signed authorisation form by the User, if the User is an adult.
3.2 Change of User. The Holder must immediately inform us of any change in the User of the SIM Card by submitting a new declaration and User Authorisation if the User is an adult. Failure to so inform us may constitute an offence under applicable law.
3.3 Responsibility for use. The Holder is legally responsible for the use of the SIM Card registered in their name. This includes liability for all charges incurred and for ensuring the Services are not used for any illegal, fraudulent, or abusive purpose.
3.4 Loss or theft. In the event of loss or theft of your SIM Card, the Holder or User must immediately notify us by calling our Customer Service. We will block the SIM Card to prevent unauthorised use. The Holder remains liable for all charges incurred up to the point of notification. Failure to report the loss or theft is an offence under applicable law.
4. Using the Services
4.1 Topping up. To use the Services, you must have a positive Credit balance in your Account. You can add Credit by purchasing top-up vouchers at authorised retailers or by using other electronic top-up methods we make available.
4.2 Charges. Your use of the Services will be deducted from your Credit balance according to the rates published in our official Prepaid Price List. This includes charges for calls, SMS, data usage, and any applicable roaming charges.
4.3 SIM Card and Credit validity.
(a) Your SIM Card requires periodic use or topping-up to remain active.
(b) Your Credit is valid for a specific period from the date of your last top-up, as specified on the voucher or in the Price List.
(c) If you do not use the Services or top-up your account within a specified period of inactivity, your SIM card may be deactivated.
4.4 Deactivation and Data Deletion. If your SIM Card is deactivated for any reason (including inactivity or expiry), your Holder and User identity data will be deleted from our systems after a period of three (3) months following deactivation. To reactivate the service after this point, you will need to undergo the full identification process again.
5. Portability
5.1 Porting your number to Cablenet. You may port your existing prepaid number from another Cypriot provider to our network. You must complete the identification process under clause 2.2 before the porting can be completed. In the event the porting request is rejected by your current provider, and the portability to Cablenet cannot be completed, your data will be securely removed from our systems, in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
5.2 Porting your number from Cablenet. You have the right to port your prepaid number to another provider.
5.3 Right to a refund of remaining Credit. If you port your number to another provider, you do not have the right to request a refund of any remaining Credit on your Account.
6. General
6.1 Privacy. We will process your personal data, including your Holder’s Identity Details, in accordance with Our privacy policy, which is accessible at [https://cablenet.com.cy/en/privacy-policy/]. This data is collected for the purposes of national security and the investigation of serious criminal offences, as mandated by applicable law.
6.2 Roaming. Roaming services are available. Charges for roaming are specified in our Prepaid Price List and are deducted from your Credit balance.
6.3 Governing law and jurisdiction. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus and the courts of the Republic of Cyprus shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any disputes arising under these Terms.
