Help ensure the reliable operation of the infrastructure that supports Cablenet’s services.
Are you an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, taking ownership, and seeing your work make a real difference? Do you want to play a key role in keeping critical infrastructure reliable, resilient, and ready to perform?
Behind every connection, service, and digital experience is infrastructure that needs to work seamlessly, every day. As a Senior Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of that infrastructure, leading the electrical, mechanical, and critical facility systems that support Cablenet’s operations.
What you will do:
- Lead the operation. Lead the Facilities Department’s technical and operational activities, ensuring electrical, mechanical and critical infrastructure systems support Cablenet’s operational objectives, resilience, business continuity, and service requirements.
- Own the hard problems. Act as the senior Engineer escalation point for complex facilities, electrical, mechanical and operational issues. Investigate problems to root cause, make sound technical decisions, and work closely with the Manager and relevant stakeholders to get things resolved.
- Shape the infrastructure. Provide technical leadership for electrical system designs, EAC submissions, mission-critical power infrastructure, and the design, upgrade, or redesign of electrical, mechanical, and facility systems. Use engineering, simulation, and analysis tools to improve reliability, capacity, efficiency, resilience, and lifecycle performance.
- Deliver the projects. Lead facilities and power projects from requirements definition and feasibility through planning, budgeting, execution, commissioning, reporting, and handover. Take ownership of technical delivery, cost, quality, and timelines.
- Manage the partners. Lead contractors, consultants, suppliers, and external service providers, ensuring technical quality, contractual compliance, health and safety, cost control, and timely delivery. Step in when issues arise and hold partners accountable for the outcomes.
- Keep standards high. Ensure Facilities activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, Health & Safety obligations, internal procedures, and relevant management systems and standards, including ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001.
- Know what’s happening. Maintain clear technical and operational documentation, including procedures, manuals, schematics, maintenance records, engineering deliverables, data room operations, and hosting requirements. Monitor technical and operational risks and put corrective and preventive measures in place before they become bigger problems.
- Measure performance. Monitor and analyze key reliability and operational indicators, including equipment uptime, mean time to repair, preventive maintenance completion, energy efficiency, incidents, and operational risks. Use the data to identify issues, improve performance, and keep the Manager informed.
- Improve what exists. Evaluate new technologies, engineering practices, industry developments, and operational performance to identify better ways of working and improve reliability, efficiency, sustainability, resilience, and cost effectiveness.
- Build the team. Provide technical direction, coaching, and mentoring to engineering and facilities personnel, encouraging accountability, knowledge sharing, professional development, and operational excellence. Work closely with internal teams, clients, contractors, suppliers, and external partners to keep priorities aligned and work moving.
You will succeed in this role if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering with a strong electrical engineering background preferred.
- Registered with ETEK as a licensed engineer.
- Valid registration certificate of an Electrical Engineer of the Department of Electrical and Mechanical Services.
- 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally within critical infrastructure, data centres, telecommunications, or other uptime-sensitive environments.
- Strong experience in electrical power systems, including power distribution, generators, UPS systems, rectifier systems and other mission-critical infrastructure, together with a sound understanding of mechanical, HVAC, and facilities systems.
- Proven experience leading complex projects end to end, from planning and budgeting through execution, commissioning, and reporting, including the management of contractors and suppliers.
- Experience with engineering design, simulation, and analysis tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, or equivalent, together with a solid understanding of data room environments, infrastructure redundancy, reliability, and operational requirements.
- Good knowledge of EAC requirements, Health & Safety legislation, and ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 as they apply to engineering and facilities operations.
- A proactive, analytical, and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders, while mentoring and developing junior engineers.
- Fluency in Greek and English.
