Cablenet is pleased to inform its subscribers that, starting from 1st January 2025, the company will triple the speeds of its existing fiberpower® 100M subscribers by upgrading them to the Purple Internet 300 Mbps plan. This upgrade applies to fiberpower® 100M subscribers who are connected to its proprietary network and requires no additional cost or action on their part.

With this upgrade, the subscribers will enjoy even faster and higher-quality internet services at home.

Through this action, Cablenet remains committed to its promise to the Cypriot consumer for simplicity, transparency, added value through the use of its services, top-quality offerings, and excellent customer service.

We are excited to inform you that Cablenet has reached an agreement with Cyta for the exchange of sports content. This collaboration brings you upgraded sports content, covering both local and international games.

Cablenet’s New Sports Packages are structured as follows:

  • Purple Sports TV 1 changes to Cyprus Football: Enjoy all league and cup matches from Cyprus A and B division teams, plus friendlies, women’s league, futsal, and Cyprus team matches up to the 3rd qualifying round of European competitions.
  • Purple Sports TV 2 changes to International Sports: Experience the thrill of international football with UEFA Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, and more. Ioannis Mavridis, a seasoned executive with over 20 years’ international experience in the banking and telecoms industries, will be assuming the role of CEO at Cablenet Communication Systems plc as of 1st July 2024. He comes with a proven track record and is exceptionally familiar with Cablenet and its operations having served as the Company’s Chief Finance Officer since September 2020.

Before joining Cablenet, he was a managing director at TAP Advisors, a US- and UK-based telecom, media, and technology-focused advisory boutique, having joined its London, UK office in August 2015. Before TAP Advisors, he spent 12 years at international bank Citigroup (Citi) and its EMEA Institutional Clients Group, with the last 10 of these years based in London.

‘I am honoured to be given the opportunity to lead Cablenet in this new capacity, seeing it through its next phase of development and growth, in a market that holds potential and challenges in equal measure. There is a clear plan to deliver on and a vast wealth and breadth of experience and skills within the Cablenet team to rely on, in order to take the Company to new heights, whilst bringing greater value to our customers and shareholders,’ said Mr. Mavridis.

Mr. Mavridis will be succeeding Yiannos Michaelides who will be stepping down from his position with effect from 30th June 2024; however, shall continue to support the Company in a consultancy role until the end of the year to ensure as smooth transition as possible.

Cablenet, based on its Contracts with its Subscribers, informs that as of March 15, 2024, the zones and charges for international roaming in countries outside the European Union are being adjusted as follows:

  • The countries Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, and North Macedonia (Former Yugoslav Republic) have been added to Zone 2. The countries Kosovo, Montenegro, and Serbia are transferred from Zone 3 to Zone 2. Monaco is moved from the EU Zone to Zone 2.
  • The countries Bahamas, Bhutan, and Kazakhstan have been added to Zone 3. Belarus is moved from Zone 2 to Zone 3.
  • The countries French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Vanuatu, and Canada have been added to Zone 4.
  • The countries Brunei Darussalam, Comoros, Equatorial Guinea, Falkland Islands, Guam, Lesotho, Malawi, New Caledonia, Niger, Puerto Rico, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Sao Tome and Principe, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Suriname, Eswatini, and Trinidad and Tobago have been added to Zone 5. The countries Iraq, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Maldives, Syrian Arab Republic, Timor-Leste, Turkmenistan, and Saint Barthelemy are transferred from Zones 3 and 4 to Zone 5

Cablenet, based on the Contracts with its Subscribers, informs that from February 1, 2024, the fees for the following services will be as follows:

  • The Fixed Telephony charges for calls towards Cablenet’s mobile subscribers will be modified from €0.00 to €0.05 (including VAT). This adjustment is equivalent to the existing charge for calls to all mobile networks.
  • The monthly charge for the Purple TV service will increase by €2.00 (including VAT). It is noted that in the event that the Purple TV service is offered to the Subscriber as part of an offer or in combination with other services, the price will be adjusted accordingly.

In the event that any Subscriber wishes to terminate one of the above services, due to the specific changes, they have the right to do so without any cost until January 31, 2024.

In accordance with its obligations, Cablenet would like to inform its Subscribers about the upcoming removal of the channels GREEK CINEMA (position 106) and DISCOVERY SCIENCE (position 207), from the Purple TV Service. The removal of these two channels, will take place on Friday, 29th December 2023. If a Subscriber wishes to terminate the Purple TV Service due to this change, they have the right to do so, until Wednesday, 31st January 2024, without any termination fees. Parental Control for Digital TV

Your digital INTEK decoder together with your smart card gives you the option of locking the adult channels “Hustler TV”,  “Hustler 3D/HD”, “Blue Hustler” and “Daring!TV”. The procedure for implementing parental control is as follows:

Step 1: Accessing smart card settings

  • Have your television connected to your decoder. With your television and decoder being ON and watching the digital programmes as normal on screen press MENU on your remote control to access the starting menu of your decoder.
  • Select (by using the keys ◄ , ►) from the horizontal menu Conditional Access.
  • Select from the vertical menu (by using the keys ▲ ,▼) Slot A – Conax and press OK. The settings menu of your smart card will appear.

Step 2: Changing your smart card code

  • Select Change CA PIN and press OK. The window for changing your smart card code will appear. The factory default code for your smart card is 1234.
  • First enter the current code of your card. In the case that this is the first time you are using the smart card this is 1234.
  • Next enter a four-digit code of your choice.
  • Re-enter your four-digit code for confirmation.
  • A message will appear informing you that the code has changed and you will be automatically returned to the settings menu of your smart card.

Step 3: Choosing your parental control level

  • Select Maturity Rating and press OK.
  • In order to lock the adult channels “Hustler TV”, “Hustler 3D/HD”,  “Blue Hustler” and “Daring!TV” press A – Over 18.
  • Enter your smart card code CA PIN.

Step 4

  • The procedure for locking all adult channels and changing your smart card code is now complete and you will be automatically returned to the settings menu of your smart card. Press Back twice to return to the channel you were watching.
After these changes, whenever you tune into an adult channel you will have to enter your code in order to unlock the channel.
