Cablenet, based on the Contracts with its Subscribers, informs that from February 1, 2024, the fees for the following services will be as follows:

  • The Fixed Telephony charges for calls towards Cablenet’s mobile subscribers will be modified from €0.00 to €0.05 (including VAT). This adjustment is equivalent to the existing charge for calls to all mobile networks.
  • The monthly charge for the Purple TV service will increase by €2.00 (including VAT). It is noted that in the event that the Purple TV service is offered to the Subscriber as part of an offer or in combination with other services, the price will be adjusted accordingly.

In the event that any Subscriber wishes to terminate one of the above services, due to the specific changes, they have the right to do so without any cost until January 31, 2024.

Announcement: Removal of channels

In accordance with its obligations, Cablenet would like to inform its Subscribers about the upcoming removal of the channels GREEK CINEMA (position 106) and DISCOVERY SCIENCE (position 207), from the Purple TV Service. The removal of these two channels, will take place on Friday, 29th December 2023. If a Subscriber wishes to terminate the Purple TV Service due to this change, they have the right to do so, until Wednesday, 31st January 2024, without any termination fees. Honorary distinction for Cablenet at the Network X Awards!

Cablenet was nominated for the category of ‘Outstanding Smart Home Operator’ amongst the top 3 companies in the world at the recent Network X awards ceremony, which is a global event held annually in France.

Network X is the leading event in Telecommunications and Technology. Cablenet had the opportunity to stand alongside global industry giants as a nominee for the ‘Outstanding Smart Home Operator’ category to discuss the latest ideas, solutions, products, and growth strategies in this fast evolving technology space.

Cablenet Doubles its Employee Satisfaction Index

“Over the past year, we managed to double our employee satisfaction index. By setting a high bar for internal quality, developing a strong company culture based on our values, and conveying to staff members our vision and customer-centric philosophy, we concurrently managed to achieve a significant increase in our subscribers’ satisfaction level,” stated Cablenet’s Chief HR Officer Chrystalla Karagiorgi.

Cablenet’s ‘For a better life’ commitment starts and ends with company employees, its own people. In her remarks, Ms Karagiorgi emphasised the importance of providing a unique working environment. “We stand out due to the high quality of our services and the unique customer service experience we provide via our experienced and qualified staff. Our people define the company’s success and give value to our business strategy, which is why our employees’ satisfaction is an extremely important facet of our business activity.”

Cablenet employees experience a work environment that encourages initiative, trust, professionalism and recognition. “Friendliness and simplicity are constituents of our development and success. Steering clear of complicated procedures and adopting effective and current methods, our people are able to communicate easily, work effectively and tackle challenges successfully,” added Ms Karagiorgi.

Parental Control for Digital TV

Your digital INTEK decoder together with your smart card gives you the option of locking the adult channels “Hustler TV”,  “Hustler 3D/HD”, “Blue Hustler” and “Daring!TV”. The procedure for implementing parental control is as follows:

Step 1: Accessing smart card settings

  • Have your television connected to your decoder. With your television and decoder being ON and watching the digital programmes as normal on screen press MENU on your remote control to access the starting menu of your decoder.
  • Select (by using the keys ◄ , ►) from the horizontal menu Conditional Access.
  • Select from the vertical menu (by using the keys ▲ ,▼) Slot A – Conax and press OK. The settings menu of your smart card will appear.

Step 2: Changing your smart card code

  • Select Change CA PIN and press OK. The window for changing your smart card code will appear. The factory default code for your smart card is 1234.
  • First enter the current code of your card. In the case that this is the first time you are using the smart card this is 1234.
  • Next enter a four-digit code of your choice.
  • Re-enter your four-digit code for confirmation.
  • A message will appear informing you that the code has changed and you will be automatically returned to the settings menu of your smart card.

Step 3: Choosing your parental control level

  • Select Maturity Rating and press OK.
  • In order to lock the adult channels “Hustler TV”, “Hustler 3D/HD”,  “Blue Hustler” and “Daring!TV” press A – Over 18.
  • Enter your smart card code CA PIN.

Step 4

  • The procedure for locking all adult channels and changing your smart card code is now complete and you will be automatically returned to the settings menu of your smart card. Press Back twice to return to the channel you were watching.
After these changes, whenever you tune into an adult channel you will have to enter your code in order to unlock the channel.

Cablenet confirmed as fastest growing telco provider in Cyprus

Cablenet has once again proven its resiliency and adaptability with a record performance during 2022 despite the post-pandemic challenges. It has established itself as the fastest growing communications provider in Cyprus, delivering on customer demands and exceeding expectations. This is confirmed by a record 40% growth in overall subscriber base, a 102% in mobile subscriptions, which has translated into a significant 19.4% growth in revenues, reaching €63.9 million by the end of 2022. Cablenet’s innovative Purple Max Mobile product concept, which offers unlimited data allowances at prices affordable to the entire market, is the main driver behind such growth. This value proposition has led to a 134% increase in mobile revenues when compared to 2021. Commenting on this performance, Yiannos Michaelides, Cablenet CEO stated, ‘Such growth is nothing short of remarkable when one considers the economic climate in which we are operating. Cablenet: The Fastest Growing Mobile Network.

It’s a fact! Cablenet is the Fastest Growing Mobile Network in Cyprus. Cablenet has already surpassed 100,000 mobile subscribers and is expected to be significantly higher by the end of this year. Over the past two years Cablenet has been capturing an average of 40% of the new mobile postpaid subscription activity, involving mobile number portability applications, under highly competitive market conditions in a four player market! The mobile postpaid segment is also significantly more lucrative than the alternative mobile prepaid segment. Cablenet is operating today as a full Mobile Network Operator (MNO) with its own 4G & 5G spectrums. Utilizing a sophisticated Radio Access Network (RAN) Sharing agreement, Cablenet is offering a very reliable, high-quality service with nationwide coverage and international roaming coverage. Cablenet entered the Mobile Services market as the fourth entrant and achieved this remarkable result in only 18 months after the launch of its disruptive Purple Max Mobile proposition, which was introduced in May 2021. Being the latest entrant in any market is always a major challenge, and especially when this entry occurs many years after the third entrant. Nevertheless, Cablenet’s very focused and deliberate strategy on mobile has beaten all odds so much so that other similar case studies of third or fourth entrants, both in Cyprus and abroad, took between 3 to 4 years to achieve this respective growth. It compelled the competition to follow Cablenet’s lead such that according to the Mobile Market Report published by the Office of the Commissioner for Electronic Communications and Postal Regulation (OCECPR) in March 2023, the mobile postpaid Unlimited All plans made up for 43.9% of the total mobile postpaid plans in the market by the end of 2022. This is akin to a revolution in the mobile market, fueled by the significant benefit in value offered to all mobile postpaid subscribers in Cyprus. More specifically, Cypriot mobile postpaid users can now enjoy the benefits of having unlimited voice, SMS and data at very reasonable prices vis-à-vis price levels before the introduction of Cablenet’s Purple Max Mobile plan. The success achieved with the Purple Max Mobile plan did not end with postpaid. Cablenet once again went on to lead the transform in the prepaid mobile market space by introducing its mobile prepaid product, Cablenet Purple Loop. By early 2022, Cablenet introduced its prepaid voucher Gimme Max, which was designed for the prepaid customer with equivalent “unlimited all” needs. The Gimme Max voucher offers its users a total of 1000 mins, 1000 SMS and 100GB of data over an attractive validity period, making it the most favorable prepaid choice for its “unlimited-like” characteristics. Use of the Gimme prepaid plans will no longer be available during roaming. Gimme Max Plan Validity Period The validity period for the Gimme Max prepaid plan is modified from 60 days to 45 days.
